As Founder and CEO of The Garrett Companies, Eric Garrett directs the strategic planning and operations of the company. Eric began his career in multifamily brokerage and quickly moved to the development side of the business. Since 1999, Eric has developed and delivered over 70 projects in 18 states totaling over 18,000 units and nearly $2 billion in valuation. The Garrett Companies is repeatedly recognized as a Best Place to Work in the USA for its culture, benefits, and people centric mindset (Fortune, Inc.). The Garrett Companies continues to rank as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in America and is a consistent leader in the real estate development industry in terms of projects under development, construction, and revenues. (Inc. 500, 2016-2023).

Rob is responsible for driving the strategic investment and underwriting vision of The Garrett Companies to ensure the highest standard of excellence, reduce risk, and increase profitability. Rob leads the Investments Team of analysts, development associates, and acquisition managers to monitor the financial stability and associated risk for all business ventures and projects. Prior to joining our team, Rob worked in a broad range of roles including investment oversight, construction, project management, financial analysis and development. Rob has over 16 years of real estate experience and has been directly involved in over $500 million of commercial real estate investments across a variety of asset types, most recently focused in multi-family, student and mixed-use communities.

In 2023, we lost our beloved COO Matt Griffin. Matt was more than the Chief Operating Officer; he was the Chief of Ideas, Strategies, Fun, Innovation, Growth, and Structure. Serving alongside Eric Garrett since the inception of The Garrett Companies, his vision, ideas, and passions are woven into the very fabric of our identity as an organization, and his legacy will continue to live with us as our company flourishes for years to come. Matt touched the lives of countless people throughout his 25+ year career in real estate development, where he played a key role in managing over $400 million worth of projects, ranging from suburban greenfield developments to urban infill mixed-use campuses. His sense of humor and giant smile are sorely missed.

Evan Brown is the Chief Financial Officer for The Garrett Companies. Evan joined The Garrett Companies in 2014 as the Financial Controller where he was responsible for managing accounting operations of the business. This included preparing financial statements, preparing and reviewing budgets and forecasts, ensuring compliance with all regulatory reporting and handling all month end and year end processes. In 2016, he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer where he supervises all accounting and financial operations across all entities. His primary responsibilities include maintaining an adequate system of accounting records and financial reporting framework, establishing internal controls to mitigate risk, and projecting and maintaining project budget.

Ken Koziol, President of EDGE Multifamily Design Group, is responsible for overseeing every facet of project design. With an extensive background spanning over 30 years in building design and construction, Ken has built a portfolio of more than $5 billion worth of projects in multiple industries. After receiving his civil engineering degree from Rose-Hulman, Ken served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps, and then in leadership roles designing airport terminal buildings in Detroit and Indianapolis. His multifamily career to date has resulted in nearly 15,000 units across a dozen states. When not at work, Ken’s hobbies include genealogy, astrophotography and learning to play piano.

As General Counsel, Kyle McClammer oversees all legal matters of The Garrett Companies. His practice includes all aspects of real estate development, including property acquisition, debt and equity financing, construction, leasing, project management and dispositions. He also advises the company on general business, corporate and compliance matters and oversees outside counsel. Prior to joining The Garrett Companies, Kyle practiced at the law firm of Wooden & McLaughlin in Indianapolis where he represented lenders and real estate developers with a focus on the multifamily industry. After law school, Kyle also served as a judicial clerk to Judge Margret G. Robb of the Indiana Court of Appeals.

Steve Flick, Executive Vice President of Construction, brings over 25 years of multifamily construction experience and project management of over 6,600 apartment and student housing units and has been involved in pre-construction of an additional 2,000 plus units across the United States. Steve’s vast experience and knowledge as a construction professional has provided him with exceptional leadership qualities and the ability to manage personnel at all levels. Steve prioritizes Garrett Construction’s responsibilities, organizes, motivates, leads high-performing teams and ensures positive results in all areas.

Jonathan, our Executive VP of Construction, is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. While pursuing his bachelors of applied science at EMU, in 2007, Jonathan worked for a General Contractor in the Detroit Metro area within the Government Sector. After five and a half years within the government contractor role, he pursued a change in construction venue and begin working for a General Contractor with a concentration in assisted living and HUD housing projects. In the winter of 2013, Jonathan transitioned to an Indiana General Contractor within their multifamily division. While here Jonathan managed and finished over $50 million worth of construction throughout multiple states. With over 10 years of management experience, Jonathan is a proven leader with a collaborative approach to managing projects as well as an ability to grow and advance those that work with him. He has worked for companies such as Thompson Thrift Construction, The Douglas Company and Brix Corporation. When he is not working he enjoys working out, golfing and good food.

Meet Matt Anderson, our Vice President of Construction Operations. He is responsible for overseeing the project management team in coordinating and managing all preconstruction and construction related activities over the course of the project. Some of his responsibilities include budgeting, planning, scheduling, financial monitoring and communicating with field personnel, subcontractors, material suppliers, and municipalities. Matt is a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He and his wife have two children and Matt enjoys golfing and hanging out with family in his free time.

Rob Bundy, Vice President of Preconstruction, directs and manages all preconstruction efforts at The Garrett Companies. In markets across the country, Rob leads the Preconstruction team in reviewing, documenting, and ultimately delivering bids and buyouts for future TGC projects. Naturally, he and his team serve as a critical link between the TGC Development and Construction teams, allowing them to stay involved deep into the construction process of a given community. Rob’s extensive background in Preconstruction includes nearly 20 years of industry experience and a B.S. and MBA from Indiana State University.

As Executive Vice President of Development, Ashley Bedell uses a background in negotiation, entitlement, and project management to support developmental initiatives nationwide. She leads The Garrett Companies’ Development division through various aspects of planning, design, & logistics on all active TGC projects. Ashley is also a strong community and social services expert with a Master of Professional Studies focused in Real Estate Development.

Alyssa Skarbek, Vice President of Human Resources, oversees all HR-related operations at The Garrett Companies. A graduate of Purdue University, Alyssa joined the team in 2020 as a Human Resources Manager before being promoted to her current role in 2023. In addition to her responsibilities in HR, Alyssa is a member of the TGC Strategic Advisory team and sits on the board of the Garrett Family Foundation, where she helps the GFF team make a positive and substantial difference to surrounding businesses and individuals in need. Alyssa’s fingerprints are evident in The Garrett Companies’ award-winning culture, which continues to redefine workplace norms across the country.

Jamie is the Executive Vice President of Corporate Operations at The Garrett Co. She first started out as a leasing agent in the property management industry right out of college and has been here ever since! She loves to read, saying her library will hit 1,000 books by the end of the year and has a dog named Annie and a cat named Scotty. She attended IU and received her bachelor’s degree in gender studies with a minor in art history, and later received her JD from the IU McKinney School of Law! She is passionate about serving other people, being a solid support for her friends, and constantly trying to better herself. Her hobbies include hiking, yoga, traveling to new places, and reading.

As Senior Director of Acquisitions with The Garrett Companies, Aaron’s responsibilities include managing site selection, site due diligence, market analysis, financial underwriting and reporting, and entitlement review for proposed new acquisitions. Aaron is an alumni of Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction Management and Georgetown University with a Masters in Real Estate Development.

Jordan focuses on the financial underwriting and pre-development aspects of projects. He assists in identifying new sites that meet all Garrett development criteria. With all potential projects, Jordan works with the Investments Team to determine the best yield vs risk scenarios. Once a project makes it to our active pipeline, Jordan works to minimize risk and time by performing an essential set of due diligence and pre-development tasks. While Jordan works with the Investments Team, he also communicates with all departments to make sure expectations and goals are met at each stage of the development cycle.

Alex Smith, Senior Associate Counsel at The Garrett Companies, is part of the TGC Legal Team and member of the Strategic Advisory Team. Prior to joining TGC in 2021, Alex was Associate General Counsel for a maritime transportation company and an associate at a law firm in their business services practice group. He earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting and business economics from Marquette University in 2011 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2015. Alex enjoys spending time with his wife (Jennifer) and their daughter (Adele), golfing, and staying up to date on all the news coming out of the watch industry. In relation to his watch hobby, Alex says that if he could visit anywhere, he’d love to go to Switzerland someday.

Anna Larson joined The Garrett Companies in 2019 after working for the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. Anna graduated from Franklin College in 2015 where she majored in International Business, Management, and Marketing. Anna oversees internal and external communication strategies for the Garrett team. Anna drives professional development at The Garrett Companies by leading the internship and mentorship programs that have earned the company recognition as an employer of choice. When Anna isn’t running communication strategies in the office, you’ll find her running (literally), coaching, traveling, and serving in her local church community.

As Executive Assistant of The Garrett Companies, Rachel serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Office of the President. She completes a broad variety of administrative tasks for the President and all members of the team including, but not limited to, arranging travel plans and assisting the Financial Controller in tracking development expenses. Rachel previously worked as a Special Events Coordinator with a not for profit organization serving children with cerebral palsy. There she provided administrative support to the Development and Program Director as well as assist in the implementation of special events. Her experiences include nearly 20 years of clerical experience. Rachel is an Indiana University alumni with a B.S. in Recreation with an emphasis in Recreational Sports Management.

As Construction Controller, Jenny is key in executing all matters relating to the administrative and accounting functions of Garrett Construction. Her responsibility primarily holds her accountable for monitoring the progress of projects, investigate variances, collect expenses, and ensure that project billings are collected and analyzed for accurateness. Other duties include assisting the Project Manager and Project Engineer prepare subcontracts, study job cost reports, and prepare monthly billings to the lender. She worked for 3 years at Eli Lilly Federal Credit Union as a loan officer until she had her children. After 8 years of staying at home with her children, she went to work as an assistant at Center Grove Elementary School. Following this opportunity, Jenny worked as an Office Manager for a Custom Home Builder Matt Beecher Builders.

Chris manages the acquisitions platform for all multifamily transactions. He identifies, analyzes, and manages all acquisition opportunities across the nation. Chris works with the Investments Team to determine the appropriate business strategies, areas of risk, and upside opportunities. Although he started his career in multifamily brokerage, Chris has worked in acquisitions since 2016. Chris enjoys the real estate business so much that he operates several real estate investments throughout Indianapolis area and practices as a Realtor in his free time. While not working in real estate, Chris spends time with his wife and energetic boxer puppy or can be found on the lake, golf course, or ski slopes.

Jackson is a Construction Operations Manager at The Garrett Co and is originally from Jasper, Indiana. He has one dog named Cooper and graduated from IUPUI in 2018 with a construction engineering management technology degree. Jackson’s favorite movie is The Longest Yard and he enjoys listening to a wide range of music genres. Jackson’s favorite restaurant is Los Bravos and he is passionate about spending time with friends, family, and being outdoors. Jackson loves his career because it is exciting, challenging, and everyday introduces a new experience.

Melissa McClure, Vice President of Management, oversees residential operations for the full collection of multifamily communities currently managed by Garrett Residential. A graduate of Indiana University, Melissa worked in multifamily for more than a decade before joining The Garrett Companies in 2024. On any given day, Melissa monitors leasing, guides staff, and reviews the resident experience at more than a dozen communities in 6+ states. Regardless of market, it is important for active TGC projects to not only meet but exceed the expectations of prospective residents; Melissa is at the forefront of these efforts

Emily Griffin is the President of the Garrett Family Foundation and has had a deep connection to The Garrett Companies since its inception. She took on the role in January 2024 to lead the foundation to its official launch and has since guided impactful initiatives, including a highly successful inaugural golf outing that raised nearly $200,000, all dedicated to supporting families and charitable causes in need. With a focus on providing immediate assistance to those facing unexpected hardships, Emily and the GFF team are guided by the biblical principle, “To whom much is given, much will be expected.” Together, they work to foster resilience, inspire hope, and build pathways to success for individuals navigating life’s challenges.
